Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"We walked in, drawn by the beautiful architecture of this well-preserved pre-war shophouse. The interior design is tasteful, blending heritage charm with modern touches. We tried the Fish Burger—fresh fillet with a generous portion that didn’t disappoint. The Cream Salmon Pasta was rich and flavorful, with plenty of salmon cubes and a fresh, creamy sauce. The relaxed, chill environment made our visit even more enjoyable. It’s a lovely spot for those who appreciate quality food in a thoughtfully designed heritage space. Definitely a hidden gem for café lovers who enjoy ambiance as much as the menu."
"The food is quite decent. I ordered the Hainanese chicken chop, which came with a traditional sweet and spicy sauce. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the sauce wasn’t overly sweet—definitely worth a try. While the price is on the higher side, it's fairly typical for this location."
"lovely cafe tucked inside a pre war shop house with tall ceilings and a long layout that feels spacious and cozy. The old building adds a nice nostalgic touch. Food wise it is decent, portions are big, definitely a good stop if you come hungry."
"Went for lunch with my friends. Food was just nice. Location is easy to spot. Very chill inside. You can comfortably eat and or just hang out. Tried tiramisu cake and it was just nice. Definitely come back again. Thank you ~"
"Had the japanese curry katsu and buttermilk chicken. Curry leaned sweet and comforting but unexpected. The buttermilk chicken wasn’t the usual creamy style that can feel cloying. Instead, it leaned salty with a mild tenderness, offering a straightforward flavor that stood out without being overwhelming. The sambal belacan on the side to cut through and refresh. Espresso was superb, easily the highlight, while the chocolate drink was smooth and not overly sweet. Portions fair, price reasonable for a city café. Service was genuinely good staff were upfront about the longer waiting time, which made the experience feel honest and well‑managed. Overall, a solid spot for casual dining with standout coffee and best enjoyed with fellow coffee lovers who don’t mind a bit of waiting for freshly prepared food."
"— Took shelter from the mid-day sun at Kaffe 16 while exploring Petaling Street in KL and was pleasantly surprised - the matcha drink was well-balanced and the presentation of the mushroom on toast was really pretty. The cafe itself was spacious too with high ceilings. (Photo by @annopano)"
"Food 8.5/10 Coffee 8/10 The bangers and mash was really good, mash had great texture and flavour overall was good. Burger was good but not the best I've had. Overall good place to sit and chill, I like the environment but the staff don't come over to take order cos theyre located in a separate room. Still decent place to sit if not for some of the really loud tourists shouting back and forth from sides of the room."
"Good food, good coffee and good service. The restaurant is connected to the Beryls Chocolate museum. The staffs are friendly here. Coffee here is good. Latte is excellent as does the filtered coffee here. The place is super pretty and clean. Very well set-up and well air-conditioned. Overall good. Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"
